This guide focuses on how to behave during an invited visit. For the wider route and what the stop usually involves, read our separate guide to visiting nomad families.
Ask about photographs before raising the camera
Ask the people present whether photographs are welcome. Permission for a group photo does not automatically include portraits of everyone, children, the interior of a tent or personal belongings. Accept a refusal without trying to negotiate it. A guide can help translate the request, but the host's answer is what matters.
Follow the invitation, not the itinerary
A visit is not permission to enter every part of a home. Stay where the host welcomes you, let them decide the pace and avoid moving objects for photographs. If tea is offered, respond politely; you can decline without making the hospitality feel like a test. A short, comfortable conversation is better than extending a visit simply to fill time.
Discuss gifts and contributions discreetly
Ask your guide in advance how the visit is arranged and whether a contribution is part of it. Do not turn money, sweets or gifts into a performance for photographs. Avoid promising assistance you cannot provide. A thoughtful visit respects people as hosts rather than treating their daily life as an attraction.
Choose a smaller, flexible visit
Keep your group together, avoid interrupting conversations and put the camera away for part of the encounter. Hosts may be unavailable or prefer not to receive visitors that day. That possibility should be respected, even when the stop appears in a proposed discovery circuit.

Can I photograph children during a visit?
Do not assume permission. Ask the responsible adult and respect the child's comfort; permission for another photograph does not cover children automatically.
Is a nomad-family visit guaranteed every day?
It depends on the hosts being available and willing to welcome visitors. The guide may need to adapt the program.
